Most people have some form of orofacial or intramaxillary developmental deficiency and subclinical infection.

Mouth breather vs Nose breather

Why?

The immediate causes include tongue tie, soft foods, and incorrect swallowing patterns. But the root causes of these issues are not totally clear. Skeletons prior to the industrial revolution do not appear to have these problems. Most suspect modern nutrition. Perhaps AI and advanced gene sequencing will provide more answers one day.

What can be done to address this?

Treatment is unique and based on the individual. But the general approach is:

  1. Create tongue space on the roof of the mouth through palatal expansion
  2. Free tongue of restriction through a frenectomy or tongue tie release
  3. Align teeth with braces or clear aligners
  4. Advance jaws forward through orthognathic surgery if additional airway space is necessary
  5. Treat cavitations and root canals

What sorts of healthcare providers can do this?

What’s this about subclinical infections?

Dental extractions are highly likely to develop cavitations or osteonecrosis of the jaw if they are not performed very carefully using the latest techniques from biological dentists.

Root canals, being dead tissue left in the body, almost always develop subclinical infections. These subclinical infections generally cause no local symptoms, but in the long run cause an elevated toxic burden that has been shown to be associated with chronic fatigue, chronic pain, and even cancer.

My dentist never told me about this. How do I know this is real?

The JawHacks Youtube channel provides a wealth of information and interviews with leading doctors and surgeons on intramaxillary issues including sleep apnea, palatal expansion, double jaw surgery, joint replacement, and more.

Dr. Dominik Nischwitz has a Youtube channel which focuses on dental cavitations, root canals, and general biological dentistry.

Who made this site?

My name’s Gordon. I’m a Colorado-based product designer and entrepreneur who has been through most of the major intramaxillary interventions.

Rather than trying to give spontaneous explanations of people’s obvious intramaxillary problems I made this site as a resource I could share instead.
